(for seniors not on academic probation)
Seniors will be placed on senior academic monitoring if a student receives a quarter grade of D or a conference will be scheduled between the student, the counselor and the teacher(s) in whose class the student earned a “D” or below. The student’s parent(s)/ guardian(s) are invited to attend. The purpose of the conference will be to review the reasons for the student’s poor academic performance and to outline strategies for improvement to ensure graduation.
The student will be monitored through weekly academic progress reports completed by the teacher(s) in whose class the student received a “D” or below. Copies of these progress reports will be mailed to the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s). The student will meet weekly with the teacher(s) in whose class the student earned a “D” or below to review the academic progress report. It is the responsibility of the student to make the arrangements to meet with the teacher. The student will also be required to meet with the counselor on a regular basis to review academic progress.
