      University Laboratory High School has 41 professional faculty members; 32 have Master’s degrees and 5 hold doctoral degrees. The average class size is 18. University of Illinois and Parkland College professors teach Uni students in concurrent enrollment courses and independent studies.

Uni faculty members have dedicated significant time and service to the school itself; for example, 16 out of the current faculty of 41 have worked at Uni for more than ten years. In addition, faculty members have garnered many prestigious awards. The faculty members of Uni High have brought national attention to the University of Illinois by participating in the development of large-scale curricular innovations. 

Uni faculty currently present papers and workshops at conferences, have articles appear in refereed journals, collaborate with researchers from other major universities, publish textbooks, curriculum materials, and works of fiction, organize conferences, serve on state academic standards committees, offer community-based learning programs, conduct summer programs, develop and test new curricula, test new instructional procedures and teaching practices, assess instructional outcomes, and test new classroom and school management practices.
