A Woman's Fund Rape Crisis Services--Rape Crisis Services is sponsoring a High School Poetry Contest for Sexual Assault Awareness Month this April. We are looking for poetry about healthy, safe, respectful relationships or about dating violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, bullying or hate crimes. Poems can be any style or form, no longer than 30 lines. Submissions must be postmarked by March 19th. Consult your English teacher for more information. Cricket Magazine Contest--The contest changes with each issue of the magazine. Check this page frequently for contest information and submission deadline. TeenInk Magazine--TeenInk publishes print and online magazines featuring student writing. They are constantly accepting submissions. Visit this page to learn more about the writing they solicit. Merlyn's Pen--Merlyn's Pen is another magazine that publishes young adult writing. They are currently running a creative writing contest "Responding to the Literature of Teens." Visit this page for more details. Submissions are due January 15. Cicada Magazine--Cicada is the teen incarnation of Cricket. They maintain a very cool online "slam" site that allows the strong of heart to post their poetry and receive feedback. You are also able to critique other teen's writing. |
