Groups or Individuals?

Prof. Pat Laughlin from the Department of Psychology visited the Statistics class (Jan. 12-13, 2006) to explain how experimental design considerations are used "in the field," and to let the Stats students serve as subjects in the study (their task: use reasoning and logic to break a numerical code).

Al thinks he has a strategy, while Julie crunches some numbers for the group's next "educated guess."

Annie, George, and Liz take their time to understand the problem thoroughly and avoid missteps...

Nicole and Rachel cogitate under Prof. Laughlin's tutelage.
