Head Coach: Joel Beesley
Joel Beesley is entering his 13th year as the Head Coach at Uni High. Most recently, the 2007 squad clinched their third straight conference title and won 15 games.  A veteran 2006 squad, led by nine seniors, finished with the third best record in school history (22-6) and defeated Unity on the road.  The 2006 team concluded its home schedule with a 21-game home winning streak.
 

The previous year, the 2005 squad finished with the second best record in school history going 23-5 before bowing out in the Regional Semifinal.  That season the team had a school record 15-game winning streak. 

Other highlights of his time at Uni include: breaking the school's 52-year regional game losing streak in 1997,  the 1998-99 squad's third place finish in the SVC conference, the 2003-04 squad who won seven in a row to close the regular season and finished 15-9.

Coach Beesley came to Uni from Valparaiso University where he played from 1990-1994. During his senior season, Valpo won 20 games for the first time in school history.

Head JV Coach: Louis DeCosmo

Coach DeCosmo takes over a young Uni High JV team for the 2007-08 season, a step towards his dream of becoming a varsity high school basketball coach. Coach DeCosmo graduated from Glenview South High School after having captained his school’s soccer and basketball teams. He hopes to use his coaching experience and passion for the game of basketball to lead his players to victory.
Assistant JV Coach: Ben Kramer

Coach Kramer will be the assistant junior varsity coach for the 07-08 season. An aspiring high school history teacher, he coached youth basketball in his hometown of Springfield, IL from 2001 until his high school graduation in 2005. An avid sports fan, Coach Kramer was a volunteer coach for Champaign Central High School last year and is a member of the U of I’s football and men’s basketball student cheering sections.
Volunteer Varsity Assistant Coach: Cole Cruz
Coach Cruz served as the Head JV coach in 2007 but has moved to a Volunteer role this season.  Cruz is set to move to Bristol, CT to intern at ESPN in January. A graduate of Driscoll Catholic High School, Coach Cruz played basketball and baseball.  As a senior Coach Cruz was named to the All-Area baseball team and went on to play semi-pro ball following school.
Student Assistant:  Adam Tiouririne
Adam Tiouririne joined the basketball program after transferring to Uni as a freshman.  The Voice of the Illineks, he is now the official P.A. announcer for Uni High Boys' Basketball. Between games at Kenney Gym, "The Voice" can be found on the practice floor helping the team and coaching staff during drills.
Student Assistant:  Richard Weisbach
Richard has joined the program as a sophomore. He helps with practice management and in charge of numerous tasks on game days.  An avid sports fan, Coach Rich is a student of the game.
