Posted Wednesday, March 29, 2006, The OG, sports

The Uni High varsity girls soccer team lost 3-0 to Normal Calvary Baptist on Tuesday. It was the Illineks' first home game after beginning the season on Saturday with an invitational tournament in Danville.

The visiting Crusaders scored two goals in the first half. Their final goal came 10 minutes into the second half. Uni goalie Mandy Grill recorded eight saves.

“We did a lot of subbing and got in a lot of new players,” said Illinek senior Annie Fehrenbacher.

Uni's varsity record falls to 0-3. The Illineks lost Saturday to Bradley-Bourbonnais and Bloomington Central Catholic.

The girls play Centennial in an away game on Friday. For the Illineks' complete schedule, click here.
