The Fisher varsity blanked Uni 7-0 on Saturday, dropping the Illineks' record to 0-5.

Senior Al Renner started on the mound and kept Uni in the game early. The Illineks trailed only 4-0 after five innings, but the host Bunnies scored three in the bottom of the sixth to put the game away. Senior Brett Clark also pitched for Uni.

After opening the season with losses to Urbana's JV on March 28 and St. Thomas More's varsity on March 30, Uni fell to Heritage (East Central) 9-2 in a varsity game on April 1 and lost 12-5 to the Champaign Central JV on Wednesday. Thursday's away game against the Buckley Christ Lutheran varsity was rescheduled for April 28.

Uni's next opponent will be Judah Christian, in a varsity game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Uni's home field in Rantoul. Judah enters the game 1-3, having split a doubleheader Saturday with East Central. The Tribe won 1-0 and lost 10-8.

See the Illineks' home page for a complete schedule of the 2006 season.
