OAKWOOD — The Illineks lost 44-24 to Milford today in the fifth-place game of the Oakwood/Westville Lady Comet/Lady Tiger Thanksgiving Classic.

Uni ended the 10-team tournament in sixth place with a 2-3 record. On the season, the Illineks are 3-3.

The game, originally scheduled for Westville High School, was moved to Oakwood because Westville's football team played today in the Class 2A state championship game. (The Tigers lost to Maroa-Forsyth 43-22.)

Junior Aran Yoo led the Illineks in scoring with 10 points. Sophomore Rachel Skoza grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds.

Skoza was one of 10 players named to the all-tournament team. The selections were made by the tourney's participating head coaches. (Coaches could not vote for members of their own teams.)

The Illineks played without point guard Samantha Nguyen. The junior injured her knee last week in the season opener against Atwood-Hammond. She found out this week that she has a torn ACL. According to head coach Rebecca Murphy, Nguyen will be out for the rest of the season.

Uni will take to the court again Tuesday, when Shiloh visits Kenney Gym. The Illineks will host Villa Grove on Thursday.
