Juniors Hannah Leskosky and Alan Liang rehearse the "Burger Burger Burger" skit while senior Andrea Park keeps a straight face in the background. Come to Big Show Friday or Saturday and find out what it's all about!BIG, BIGGER, BIGGEST. Can Uni's annual Big Show possibly get any bigger? Each year sides are split from laughter by hilarious sketches written by Uni's finest, but what's in store for us this time around?
At the end of this week, you'll have a chance to discover for yourself what senior Big Show directors Anna Cangellaris and Eunice How have stewed up in their own pot of funny.
This year's show will wrap up X-Week on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the North Attic.
Tickets are $5, but $2 will be knocked off if you bring paperback dictionaries (any language) to donate to Urbana-Champaign Books to Prisoners, this year's designated charity for X-Week.
There will be a lot more sketches this year, but many of them are very short, unlike last year's longer, more developed sketches.
The 35 sketches (nine of which are video) are the most random scenes you'll feast our eyes on.
"We don't have a theme," says How. "We just go with the flow. Topics include TV show parodies, Harry Potter, great big technology, and the world premiere of a rap music video."
Robbed a whole week of rehearsal time, things have been getting a little crazy behind the scenes. But as their predecessors have always done, this year's directors will pull together an amazing show for Uni audiences this weekend.
So why should students go?
Says How: "To have a splendiferous amount of laughs and to support a great charity!"
