Elements

Books

The Uni library has a number of very detailed books on particular elements, groups of elements, and the periodic table as a whole. Most of these have call numbers of 541-546 (either in the reference section or the circulating collection), but for now we've gathered them all together on the island near the reference collection. Please come and check them out (you can even check reference books out overnight if you come in after 3:00).

Web Sites

CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics
A very authoritative source for all kinds of chemical information. In particular, try out Section 4, Properties of the Elements and Inorganic Compounds.

Encyclopedia Britannica
You might not think to look here, but Britannica is a great place for solid, basic info. on the element(s) of your choice. We also have a paper copy in the library.

Chemistry Pages Indexed by the Librarians' Index to the Internet
A small collection of teacher-and-librarian-approved web sites with information about elements and the periodic table.
