Urbana Free Library Archives
Here you will find the most comprehensive public library newspaper collection in the area. The archives specialize in genealogy and local history. Though the focus in on Champaign County, they have information on many other communities in Illinois. The index is now online!

This library holds tens of thousands of reels of microfilm and subscribes to almost 500 current newspapers.

Or, click on United States or The World. In the "for:" field type a question mark and in the custom date field type the month and year you are researching. You will have to scroll through articles to find the date you were born.
Ebsco Academic Search Elite
Periodicals with full text back to 1990. Limit to "Full text" and "Publication Type: Periodical" and enter the month and year you were born as both the start and end date for your search. Scroll through the articles your search retrieves to find those closest to your birthdate.
AP Multimedia Archive
Photographs, audio sound bites, graphics and text spanning over 160 years of history. Select Search and choose U.S. News or International. Type the year you are researching or the range of dates you are researching (4/12/1995 to 4/19/1995). You can't search for specific date. Next, type the name of the city, state or country you are researching.
