Requesting books from UIUC

When you find a book in the online catalog that we don't have at Uni, remember that you can request it.

First, scroll to check the status to make sure that it is available.

Then, scroll back to the top of the page and click on Request in the light blue toolbar. Type in your Library ID, which is on your student ID and begins with 20111, and your last name. Click Login.

Click OK again.

IMPORTANT! Set Choose Pick-Up Library to UIUC Uni High Desk.

Also, re-enter your Library ID in the box, then click Submit, and you're done! Remember to Logout when you're finished searching.

You will be notified by e-mail (and with a locker note) when the book comes in to the library.

 

Reference Books

Reference books are found in the main room along the walls and can be checked out overnight after 3pm, due back the next day at 8am.

This is an excellent resource of web sites on Sub-Saharan Africa maintained by Karen Fung of Stanford University for the African Studies Association, USA.  It is searchable by topics and by individual countries.

Country Studies
Online versions of books previously published in hard copy by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Army. The Country Studies Series presents a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of countries throughout the world.
