1937, and these young gentlemen are dressed to kill. When was the last time you saw students in the library wearing ties and suspenders, much less cardigans? Things ain't what they used to be...
In 1940, these girls faced a problem that nags at many library patrons today--is it possible to fit any more books on this table?
1940 again, and you're probably wondering if the PDA rules were as strict back then. You might wonder about the smirk this handsome young man is giving the camera. Let's see, his left hand is on the book, pretending to turn pages, and his right hand...
The next year, 1941. They all seem so studious and well-adjusted...perhaps it's because they have the same hairstylist. Notice the large, handsome oak tables we used to have in the library. Compare with the timeless sky-blue formica we have now.
1946, just the guys. Let's see...He's reading, he's reading, he's reading, he's reading, and the guy in the middle... maybe there actually is an intellectual benefit to hovering near the books after all.
