
University Laboratory High School Library has developed circulation guidelines and procedures in order to ensure fair access to information for all patrons.
The University Laboratory High School Library has established the following loan periods for materials.

If an item is not available through the online catalog, users may request materials through the Interlibrary Loan Service in Room 104 of the Main Library. Uni High Library has forms you may fill out that we can send by campus mail to Room 104.
Students and faculty may charge out items from other departmental libraries, the main stacks, or other consortium libraries through the online catalog. If requested, the item will be delivered to the Uni High Library. This usually takes a few days, although the time can vary a good deal.
Materials charged out by computer may be renewed by using the “My Account” feature of the online catalog. You can also renew materials by calling the University Library Phone Center (333-8400) or University Laboratory High School Library (333-1589). Card-in-pocket books, periodicals, and other materials must be renewed by calling or visiting the University Laboratory High School Library.
Returning materials on time ensures that the information will be available for the use of others. Therefore, prompt return of library materials is strongly encouraged.
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library is responsible for issuing overdue notices and fines for University Laboratory High School materials charged out by computer and materials borrowed from other libraries on campus.
The University Laboratory High School Library is responsible for issuing overdue notices for all other materials (e.g., card-in-pocket books and reference materials). The University Laboratory High School Library has developed a process by which students are notified of overdue materials by courtesy notices posted on their lockers. When library materials are not returned, they are considered lost and borrowers are charged for their replacement (see next section).
The following provisions are stated according to UIUC Library Policy (effective September 15, 1999).
The patron will be billed for the cost of replacement of any damaged materials.
C. Billing ChargesThe minimum charge for lost or damaged books or audiovisual materials is $125.
The minimum charge for lost or damaged journals, magazines, or vertical file materials is $10. Renewing or returning materials can prevent such billing.

The University Laboratory High School Library reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or revoke library privileges according the judgment of the University Laboratory High School Librarian. The following situations serve as examples of when such action might be taken: numerous lost or damaged materials, chronic overdue materials, theft or attempted theft of materials, and/or other extreme cases.
