Going into today's Senior Auction, X-Week had raised only $35 for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The auction pulled in more than $1,100 — but there's still a long way to go. Baseball: Uni drops final regular-season game

The Illineks fell to Salt Fork 7-1 on Thursday. The team will begin Class A playoff action Tuesday afternoon at Fisher. Senior Al Renner goes into the game leading the area in hitting, according to News-Gazette statistics. His .643 average is 82 points higher than his nearest competitor's. At this afternoon's Class A sectional in Gibson City, Uni's 3,200-meter relay team of senior Josie Chambers, sophomores Shivani Khanna and Ruthie Welch, and freshman Laura Hazlett will be a strong favorite to qualify for next week's state finals in Charleston.
