Photo essay: Uni High Cultural Fair, Pt. 1

With more than 30 booths offering knowledge and culinary delights, this year's Uni High Cultural Fair was a huge success. Held both inside Uni Gym and outside on a closed-off Stoughton Street, the fair lasted two hours and drew hundreds of participants — not just Uni students and faculty, but parents, members of the University of Illinois community, and local residents who wanted to share insights into their own cultures. Katherine Allen and Anna Gooler were on hand to photograph the fun.

Film review: "Across the Universe"

Anna Gooler wasn't always a fan of The Beatles. That's pretty amazing, considering she can't get their songs out of her head these days. Getting to know Uni's new teachers: Q&A with Andi Phillips

After health teacher DeeDee Wright announced that she would be leaving Uni to accompany her husband to his new job at Colorado State University, Andi Phillips applied for vacancy and was hired. Gargoyle staff reporter Anna Gooler recently sat down with Phillips to find out about her background and see how she's doing at Uni so far.

First person: Looking back at this year's Subbie Retreat

It welcomes new students to the school and helps them bond with their classmates in ways they would not be able to in a classrom setting. This year’s retreat was a full day and included activities like running, screaming, and creating chaos. Sophomore Katherine Allen, a subbie buddy who went on the retreat, takes a closer look at what happened.
