Agora Days '08: Open for business!

Have an idea for an Agora Days class? Whether you're a student or teacher, a parent or friend of the school, you're welcome to submit a course proposal for Agora 2008. "We're hoping for a broad diversity of courses in all categories (academic, fine arts, sports, games, movies, cooking and … other)," Agora sponsor John Garvey said today, "so start amazing us with your talents!"

Books to movies: Why do it?

Before seeing "The Golden Compass" over the weekend, I was fairly excited to see one of my favorite children's books put on the big screen. However, once again I walked away disappointed from another book-gone-movie.

UFU lock-in rescheduled for February

After the disappointing postponement of last weekend's United for Uganda junior/senior lock-in due to weather concerns, UFU organizers and the administration have decided to move the event to February. Last year the student group held two lock-ins and raised nearly $4,000 to help former child soldiers in Uganda. Check inside for more about the upcoming fundraiser.

Three Uni seniors, one junior chosen for IMEA all-state music conference

Four Uni students advanced to the IMEA All-State Conference after receiving honors at the district level. Seniors Ethan Berl, Lucy Zhang, and Jennifer Roloff, and junior Daniel Borup will attend two days of workshops and rehearsals Jan. 30 and Feb. 1 in preparation for the all-state concert on Feb. 2. Berl and Borup will sing in the honors chorus, while Roloff and Zhang will perform in the orchestra.
