Theatrefest excitement

Every January, Illinois high school students interested in theater gather at the Illinois High School Theatre Festival, affectionately known as Theatrefest. In January 2007 it was held on our own University of Illinois campus.

It's the week before Christmas, and that means tons of new movies hitting the theaters, including Johnny Depp's latest, the much-anticipated "Sweeney Todd." On the music front, Lupe Fiasco follows up his recent appearance at Foellinger Auditorium with his new CD, "The Cool." DVD highlights include "The Simpsons Movie." And for gamers the long-awaited sequel to the popular "Nights into Dreams" comes out on the Wii.

Boys basketball: Uni vs. Fisher rescheduled for Jan. 12

The varsity and JV games between Uni and Fisher originally scheduled for Dec. 8 have been moved to Jan. 12, according to Uni Athletic Director Sally Walker. The games will be played at Fisher High School. JV action will begin at 6 p.m., with varsity to follow.

CD review: Ghostface Killah, "The Big Doe Rehab"

No one in music today tells a story like Ghostface Killah does. According to Kumars Salehi, the Wu-Tang Clan virtuoso reaffirms his place as hip-hop's most important MC with his latest album, "The Big Doe Rehab."
