Chess: Uni remains undefeated

After a three-week break, the Uni chess team stayed undefeated by sweeping Mahomet-Seymour and Heyworth in one-round matches on Thursday, winning 58-0 in each match. The chess team is now 6-0 in the East Central Illinois Chess League.

Girls basketball: Uni drops ECIC opener to defending champ Decatur Lutheran

The Illineks began their conference schedule Friday night against Decatur Lutheran, which won the ECIC title last year with a 12-0 record. LSA looks strong again this year, defeating Uni by 15. On the plus side, the Uni JV won its first game of the year, 27-17.

UFU lock-in, boys basketball vs. Fisher postponed

Due to inclement weather, tonight's boys varsity/JV basketball games at Fisher and the United for Uganda junior/senior lock-in at Uni High have been postponed. The announcement was made this afternoon in a recorded message sent to all Uni families.

Wandering around Lincoln Square Mall before dinner, I’m amazed to see how empty and quiet it is. Once upon a time, it was a busy, bustling place full of people. But now, it seems more like a desert than a bazaar.

There are so many different names for all the different generations, it seems hard to keep track of all the titles. I remember arguing with my friends over whether we are “Generation Y” or “Generation Q” or the “Millennials” the other day, and finally today I have come to the conclusion that we are “Generation Ridiculous.”
