Last year during National Poetry Month, the Gargoyle published a "My favorite poem" series with selections from Uni's English teachers. Steve Rayburn's choice was particularly popular. To mark the end of this year's National Poetry Month, Rayburn reads his selection and discusses why it is especially meaningful for him.

Four seniors to be honored by Kiwanis Club

It must be getting close to the end of the school year, because the awards are starting to pour in. The latest come from the Kiwanis Club of Champaign-Urbana, which will recognize outstanding C-U seniors, including four from Uni, at a luncheon in May.

Film review: "Blades of Glory"

Three Gargoyle editors win medals at IHSA state journalism contest

Jono Baron, Devika Bagchi, and Ben Hyman placed among the top four in their events Saturday as Uni finished ninth overall at the finals, ending the day as the state's top-ranked Class A team.

Looking for donors: Annual blood drive to be held Tuesday

Uni students 16 or older and weighing at least 110 pounds are eligible to participate in the blood drive. Faculty and staff may contribute as well. The Community Blood Services of Illinois will conduct the drive Tuesday morning. The CBSI bloodmobile will be parked in the yellow zone on the west side of the main building.

Uni math students place sixth at ICTM state finals

Competing against schools many times its size, Uni again demonstrated its math prowess with a top 10 finish at today's ICTM contest. Juniors Alex Zhai and Ethan Berl led the way, placing second in the junior/senior two-person team category. See further results inside.

The Illineks shut out the Class AA Green Wave 1-0 today, the second time this season the girls have defeated a team that beat them 8-0 last year. The game was called with 3:33 left.
