Sixteen (yes, 16) Uni seniors to be featured in WCIA's "Best of Class"

Usually only two students represent each area high school in WCIA's annual "Best of the Class" series of one-minute TV spots. But this year, the station invited schools to submit the names of all students who have the highest GPA in their class. In Uni's case, that means 16 seniors will be on your TV screens this graduation season.

Girls soccer: Danville defeats visiting Illineks 6-0

Two Danville players scored 3 goals each as the Class AA Lady Vikings made sure their seniors went out with style Tuesday in their final home match of the year. The Illineks travel to Warrensburg-Latham on Thursday for their next game.

Boys track: 4x800 places first, 4x400 makes school history

Not surprisingly, Uni's 3,200-meter relay squad took top honors at Friday's Spartan Classic in St. Joseph. The real eye-opener came at the end of the meet, when the Illinek 4x400 team set a school record in the event and placed third, with a time less than 3 seconds away from the automatic state qualifying standard.
