After four years at the helm of Uni High, Kassie Patton will step down as director/principal effective Aug. 8. An interim principal is expected to be named in the next few weeks.

Competing in his second IMO, the rising senior led the United States to a fifth-place finish in the world's toughest math contest. Zhai scored 32 out of a possible 42 points to place seventh individually out of 522 competitors from 93 countries.
