Basketball update: Williams advances in 3-point contest, Sullivan's run ends at state prelims

Senior Chumar Williams has made it past the second round of the IHSA Class 2A Three-Point Showdown. He is hoping to duplicate on the boys side the accomplishment of junior Jessi Sullivan, who advanced to the girls Class 2A state prelims this year. Her run ended Thursday, when she made five treys at Illinois State University's Redbird Arena.

Subfreshman artists win honors in Insect Fear contest

The work of three subfreshman artists caught the eyes of judges in this year's Insect Fear Film Festival Art Contest. Annie Rong won first place in the most thematic category, Joe Easley won second place in the grades 6-8 category, and Maia Gersten earned second place in the most frightening category.
