It's a big week for "Juno" fans in C-U. Ellen Page (Juno herself) co-stars in the new film "Smart People," which opens Friday. Then on Sunday night, one of the featured artists on the "Juno" soundtrack — Kimya Dawson — will perform at the U-C Independent Media Center. Led by Malcolm Taylor's state-caliber performance in the 400-meter dash, the Uni girls and boys track teams came away from their first coed outdoor meet of the year with an impressive number of first-place finishes Thursday at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Two days later, Uni athletes came up big again at the Tuscola freshman-sophomore girls meet.

Mike Renner, Uni High's career-scoring leader in boys basketball, recently received one last accolade: He was selected to The News-Gazette All-Area First Team, one of only 10 players to receive the honor. He joins his older brother Al Renner, a 2006 Uni alum, as a News-Gazette first-teamer.
