Food drive update: Making a difference on Halloween

This Halloween Uni sudents did more than just trick-or-treat for candy. Senior Rachel Hurley and junior Rachel Hyman led efforts in collecting canned food for their Halloween Hunger Drive. The end result was quite successful, and the Gargoyle explored the planning that went into the collection.

Chess: Uni stays undefeated in league play

The Uni chess team defeated Georgetown Ridge-Farm in two rounds on Thursday, winning by a combined score of 111.5-4.5. The chess team is now 5-0 in the East Central Illinois Chess League.

Uni Gym gets a makeover

[UPDATED] For years subbie basketball players have been slipping on the Uni Gym court. But not anymore. Last week, thanks to the generosity of a Uni parent, a new floor was installed in the gym. The entire project cost more than $17,000.

Girls basketball: Uni falls to Heritage, Oakwood in Comet Classic

Rachel Skoza scored 36 points, grabbed 20 rebounds, and blocked 10 shots on Saturday, but that wasn't enough as Uni dropped its first two games in the Comet Classic at Oakwood High School. The Illineks lost to Heritage and the host Comets. They will be back in action Monday night against Milford.
