Alex Zhai wins gold medal at International Math Olympiad, leads U.S. to fifth place

Competing in his second IMO, the rising senior led the United States to a fifth-place finish in the world's toughest math contest. Zhai scored 32 out of a possible 42 points to place seventh individually out of 522 competitors from 93 countries.
