Get to know your transfers

If you walk the Uni hallways, you'll soon enough notice the new faces in the crowd. This year Uni has three transfers, all of them juniors. Andrea Park and Sarah Pfander interviewed the newcomers during the first week of school. Read on to learn more about Ben Daniels, Clement Dossin, and Miguel Zamora-Mills.

Fall play: Auditions to be held this week for "Diary of Anne Frank"

"The Diary of Anne Frank" has been selected as this year's fall play. Interested in joining the cast? Auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the North Attic. A copy of the script is on reserve in the library. Like most Uni fall plays, the cast will be relatively small: There are roles for five men, five women, and three extras.

Saturday sports roundup: Quite a day for Uni teams

All of Uni's varsity sports teams played on Saturday, and the results were impressive. The girls cross country team turned in a solid fourth-place performance against some of the best teams in the state at the Peoria Woodruff Invitational. The boys cross country team placed eighth, a significant improvement over last year's 19th-place finish. The girls volleyball team won second place at the highly competitive Westville Invitational, losing only to tourney champ Georgetown-Ridge Farm. The boys soccer team won its third straight game, shutting out Sullivan in a contest shortened because of lightning. And the girls swim team downed U-High Chicago, the second time in two years the girls have defeated their lab-school rivals.
