Time out for a good cause: Down Syndrome Network's fourth annual Buddy Walk to be held Saturday

The 2008 Buddy Walk in support of people with Down syndrome will take place Saturday at the Champaign County Fairgrounds. SSO secretary/school registrar Ellen Lindsey and her son, Joey Lindsey, will be among the participants, while student club S4BW will volunteer at the event. Check inside for more details.

Student winners selected in CD art contest

Artwork by two Uni students will adorn the CD version of Uni High's new radio documentary, "Competing Against Discrimination: Achieving Equality in Athletics at the University of Illinois," which had its broadcast premiere Saturday evening on WILL AM-580. About 50 to 60 CDs will be produced later this fall. Learn more inside.

CD review: The Pussycat Dolls redefine "domination"

Even though Lor Sligar detests everything the Pussycat Dolls stand for, she had to admit that their recent hit "When I Grow Up" was pretty catchy. So she decided to check out their new album, "Doll Domination." Her verdict? The Dolls will dominate something, but it won't be the top of the recommended list.

Countdown to Cultural Fair '08: Now that's entertainment!

Last year's Cultural Fair had Uni students, parents, and staff dancing in the street thanks to the U of I Center for African Studies' Mara-Giri Project and other entertainers. Expect this year's lineup to get people moving as well. Among the highlights: Ugandan rapper Krukid and the Alpha Phi Alpha Step Team.
