Weather update: Girls basketball playoff game postponed due to fog, will be played Wednesday

The first-round IHSA Class 2A playoff game between Uni High and Georgetown-Ridge Farm was postponed tonight due to heavy fog. The contest was scheduled for a 6 p.m. tipoff at St. Thomas More, the regional host site. The game has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Champaign school.

Spring play '08: Cast is chosen, rehearsals begin

More than 40 students have been selected for the cast of Uni's spring play, Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing," directed by Barbara Ridenour. Rehearsals began today as the actors set about the demanding task of getting ready for opening night, just two months away.

Girls basketball: Judah edges Uni 42-33

Despite 18 points from senior Karen Woodley, Uni fell to Judah Christian on the road 42-33. Junior Rachel Skoza added a double-double -- 10 points and 10 rebounds -- but no other Illinek scored more than two points. At the time, Uni's record fell to 9-12 overall, 6-3 in the ECIC, but the Illineks have since rebounded with three consecutive wins going into tonight's playoff matchup.

DVD review: "3:10 to Yuma"

Starring Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, "3:10 to Yuma" shows that Westerns still have plenty of life left in them, according to Gordon Ruan. Down-on-his-luck rancher Dan Evans (Bale) agrees to escort captured outlaw Ben Wade (Crowe) to the 3:10 train to Yuma, where he will stand trial for his crimes. But getting there is easier said than done.
