It's a big week for "Juno" fans in C-U. Ellen Page (Juno herself) co-stars in the new film "Smart People," which opens Friday. Then on Sunday night, one of the featured artists on the "Juno" soundtrack — Kimya Dawson — will perform at the U-C Independent Media Center. Girls & boys track: Illineks win first place in eight events at SJO meet

Led by Malcolm Taylor's state-caliber performance in the 400-meter dash, the Uni girls and boys track teams came away from their first coed outdoor meet of the year with an impressive number of first-place finishes Thursday at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Two days later, Uni athletes came up big again at the Tuscola freshman-sophomore girls meet.

Boys basketball wrap-up: Renner ends career with selection to News-Gazette All-Area First Team

Mike Renner, Uni High's career-scoring leader in boys basketball, recently received one last accolade: He was selected to The News-Gazette All-Area First Team, one of only 10 players to receive the honor. He joins his older brother Al Renner, a 2006 Uni alum, as a News-Gazette first-teamer. Mike also received all-state recognition from the Associated Press and the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. Read on for more about Mike and several of his senior teammates.

Big Show '08: Auditions to be held today, Tuesday

The spring play finished its run Saturday night, but don't think that means the end of Uni stage performances for the year. The arrival of spring wouldn’t seem right without the annual production of Big Show, the riotous, hilarious, student-written and -directed collection of comedy sketches. This year, Big Show will be directed by seniors Anna Cangellaris and Eunice How. Auditions will take place today and Tuesday. Check inside for more details.
