The cards have been dealt … will I get a good hand?

Hours of sweat and pain. Days waking up before 5 a.m. Months of grueling work. And then, finally, it all comes to an end. Tomorrow morning the Uni High girls swim team will swim in their last meet of the season: sectionals.

Five minutes: A small sacrifice for happiness

We at Uni have a lot of advantages over other schools. We get regular exercise in an excellent PE program. We don't have nasty cafeteria food. We have amazing teachers and quality classes that actually might prepare us for college.

Herbivores

I have been a vegetarian for about seven years. I started off by cutting red meat from my diet, but I still ate chicken and fish. Soon, however, I stopped eating chicken as well. I didn’t really like fish, so I didn’t eat much to begin with. Then, I realized that fish are animals, too, so I decided not to eat any fish either.

Hugging = detention

I just read a small excerpt in the Living section of The News-Gazette that told the story of a girl in middle school receiving two days of after-school detention for hugging.

Hugging?

Yeah, "What the heck" was my first thought, too.
