Best Friends forever

In kindergarten, children often say things like “I’ll be your best friend forever if you give me your orange Popsicle for my purple one!” or “Hi, my name is Carrie. Let’s be best friends!”

However, as we grow older, we no longer use the term “best friend” so lightly.

One quarter

We've now entered the last quarter of the 2007-08 school year, and you can't help but hear all the seniors expressing their enthusiasm in nearly being done with high school.

I, on the other hand, have five more quarters to complete until the end of my high school career. Nonetheless, I'm extremely excited for what's to come.

Of tunnels and fountains

Over spring break, I visited a friend in Pennsylvania. It was my first time flying alone, so I was a little nervous. However, it turned out to be pretty fun.

The day I turned off the light

Last Saturday had started like the many other days of spring break. I woke up around 11 a.m. and planned to relax the day away. Around 6 o’clock in the evening, everything was continuing like normal. I was surfing the Web and my 8-year-old brother was watching TV when all of a sudden the house went dark.
