Pump your own music

It's pretty obvious, and understandable, that Uni students can't agree on what music to play at dances. At last year"s "Funk Dances" there was audible groaning in response to the somewhat foreign music selection. The year before last, a number of students opted out of attending dances due to the play list that only featured rap music.
The plain fact is the DJ, who is one of the four people in the entire school who knows how to work the stereo, and a couple of his or her buds have full control over the music.
Dilemma? I think not.
Instead of having another person choose what music you are going to dance to, why not choose it yourself?
Solution? Your iPod ... or whatever personal music device you find handy.
It's called "mobile clubbing," a crazy phenomenon where at an organized event, people dance to their song of choice. Well, I guess at Uni we won't exactly be "mobile clubbing," but we will be doing something awfully close to it.
Wouldn't it be convenient to be able to switch on your iPod when the music isn't to your own taste? Not to mention it would be mildly entertaining to watch a whole bunch of your peers boogying down to completely different tunes.
The Howdy Hop, the first and possibly the most fun dance of the year, is coming around the corner. Instead of hoping that the DJ plays music you enjoy, bring your own!
So, when Avril Lavigne's eye-stabbingly annoying song "Girlfriend" comes on, I plan to pump up some Daft Punk. What will you be listening to?
