This is such a cool band.

The other day, I heard a Blind Melon song on the radio. It was such a familiar song, so I went to my computer and downloaded about a dozen more of their songs.

Does anyone remember the chubby girl who dances around in a bee costume? That was Blind Melon's "No Rain."

The word that first comes to mind to describe this band is ... chill. Their style of guitar is relaxing and laid-back. MySpace catagorizes them as "Rock/Jam Band/Psychedelic," but I'd have to disagree. They're alternative. If only there were a "feel good" genre for music, though.

Most of the band's better songs were produced in the early 1990s, but they've made a small comeback. That is after lead vocalist Shannon Hoon was replaced after his death by Travis Warren. Hoon had brought a good reputation for the band through his closeness with Axl Rose when he was in the band Guns N' Roses.

Sometimes, bands that don't get much hype at all really attract my interest. Atmosphere is one of them. I'm completely in love with the group, even though I'm not a big rap listener. It's not possible for me to listen to "Modern Man's Hustle" or "Reflections" less than two times in a row.
