My nameless dog

Two weekends ago, my dad came home from Kokomo, Ind., with a brand new girl puppy. My dad finally decided to take the decisive step in getting a dog by actually going out and getting it.

The reason we got the puppy in Indiana was purely chance. My dad had especially wanted an Australian cattle dog for quite some time. By chance, he happened to mention it around some friends from Indiana who were connected with the local humane society. They said that there was a litter of 10 puppies that would be available for adoption within the next few weeks.

After a couple of weeks of deliberating and arguing about whether or not we should get the dog, we were still unsure about the decision. Eventually, my dad took the initiative to take the trip and get the dog.

As far as appearance goes the dog is about 16 pounds with gray-and-black fur. She has floppy ears, which she probably got from some sort of beagle. Like most humane society animals she is a mutt.

Like all animals, she spends most of her day sleeping. However, unlike most animals, she sleeps like an old man. She wheezes, snores, and twitches while she sleeps. Whenever she is awake, she is bouncing off the walls, chasing cats, and chewing on rawhides.

The only problem with her so far is that we never came up with a name for her. My dad wants to call her Flo, which my mom doesn’t like. But my mom comes up with various names that neither my dad nor I like. So really it's looking like it will be Flo, which seems good to me.
