Hey Jude! When I'm 64, I wanna hold your hand

I wasn’t always a fan of The Beatles. In fact, when I was younger, I thought they made annoying old-people music. That was, of course, before I had ever listened to any of their songs other than “Yellow Submarine,” and I didn’t even know that was by The Beatles.
This all changed when my brother bought a laptop, and I inherited his old desktop. I checked out his extensive iTunes library. I soon discovered the “Strawberry Fields” of the Beatles world, and shouted “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da!”
Then, on Saturday I saw one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. It was right up there with "Rent" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."
The movie I saw, "Across the Universe," is a musical set to songs by The Beatles. It is put together brilliantly, setting a story that fits with all of the songs included. I found myself trying extremely hard not to sing along so that the other moviegoers wouldn’t be annoyed.
There are even cleverly named characters like Jude, Lucy, and Prudence (from the songs “Hey Jude,” “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds,” and “Dear Prudence”). Plus, cameo appearances include Salma Hayek, Bono, and Eddie Izzard!
The most extraordinary part of the movie, however, wasn’t the amazing cinematography, or the intriguing dancing businessmen, or even the attractive British actor who played Jude.
The most amazing part was the energy that I had after the movie. During the credits, I ran up to the front and danced with my friends until I could barely breathe. I jumped around in the lobby, ecstatic. I nearly skipped the whole way from Savoy 16 to the Marble Slab Creamery.
After sitting in the dark for a couple of hours, the fact that I had that much energy makes me absolutely positive that I will never forget The Beatles, or the night I first saw "Across the Universe."

Oh Anna
What an amazing movie. It probably didn't hurt that after we got to Marble Slab we spent the next twenty or so minutes eating three different kinds of ice cream.
Just a thought.
Cheers!
