Dear Sarah Palin,

Years spent on developing a fake and overexaggerated Southern accent still have not prepared me for the words I would like to say in it: YOU DON’T REPRESENT ME!

Call me a militant feminist, or delusional, or “Lucifer” if you will, but I supported Hillary Clinton in her bid for president. Not that it really matters, since I can’t vote, but I felt incredibly confident in her ability to run the country.

And yes, after she was edged out, or “slaughtered” depending on your views, I was a bit upset. I was nervous about a bit of early ambiguity in Sen. Barack Obama’s policy plans, troubled by the patronizing "Youth for Obama" movement the mainstream news channels wouldn’t stop raving about, and honestly a bit angry over the sexist media coverage criticizing her for being "shrill" and "weak."

But there was never any doubt in my mind that Barack Obama was the best remaining choice for America, simply based on his positions on the economy, global warming, the war on terror, tax reform, education, and the list goes on.

And after all her years of hard work, less than a week after my candidate publicly throws her full support behind Sen. Obama, a little-known governor from Alaska who has neither the accomplished record of Sen. Clinton, her years of hard work, nor a similar position on well, anything, is thrown onto a major party ticket and claims that she will continue to fight and break the metaphorical "glass ceiling" so we can have a woman in high office.

And we’re all supposed to rejoice and support a gun-toting, allegedly corrupt, inexperienced, social conservative, just because she’s a woman?!

As a Hillary supporter, I am offended. As a female, I am embarrassed. And as a human being, I am disgusted.

Make no mistake about it. The nomination of Gov. Palin isn’t breaking the glass ceiling; it’s just raising it out of our sight.
