Paying attention to details

Have you ever looked at a cereal box closely? I mean, have you ever really inspected it?
Do you realize that each little detail, each little color of the design was placed there with a purpose?
All products are designed this way. Take, for example, this men's razor. Somebody has the delicate job of deciding the color combination, the shape of the handle, the precise design of the logo. As consumers, we rarely consider these tiny details, but the people who make a product want it to sell as best as possible. I think it's truly amazing that people pay that much attention to details that most people won't notice.
Now, compare the men's razor to this women's one, and you can look even deeper into the decisions people go through to appeal to specific consumers. Regardless of whether a pink or blue razor will actually appeal to either gender (I strongly believe in defying gender roles), the point is that people are paid specifically to create every single facet of a product.
In films, as well, so many aspects are considered. Each shot is edited in a specific order, each costume is planned, and each clip of music is precisely placed. The people who make those decisions must really love what they do, because it seems to me that it could become tedious.
Don't believe me? Take a look at anything you find around your house. Your toothbrush. The color of each bristle, the amount of bristles, the length of each bristle. Hundreds of aspects of the tiniest item have been considered. Would you be able to sit all day trying to figure out the best pattern for toilet paper?
So, try looking deeper into the design of the zipper on your backpack, the shape of a particular letter in different fonts, or the architecture on the banister of the stairs. You might be surprised at how much you notice, and you might begin to ponder what kind of person put such hard work into a seemingly unnoticed piece of daily life.
