Everything I wanted to say this year but didn't

Time flies. No one has to toss a clock out the window to prove that it does.

A few weeks ago, I wasn't reading the signs that school was coming to an end. Only now is it starting to dawn on me that I won't be taking classes every day in about eight days — a giant countdown clock has made it hard not to notice.

I've had plenty of stuff to mention this year that may not have been worth individual blog entries, but I still find worth mentioning nonetheless. So here are my rambling and incoherent final blog entry thoughts:

Biking is awesome. After playing tennis, sleeping, and eating, riding my bike may be my favorite thing to do. In fact, biking makes so much sense, there's hardly any reason not to ride. Since 90 percent of our class can run a 30-minute 5K, hopping on a bike and going a couple miles should be a piece of cake. The only gas you need goes in your mouth, not your car's fuel tank. And it's also a great way to de-stress after a long day/week/year of "hard" work.

Still, I don't plan on riding my bike to prom next year, so I'll need a driver's license for that. I've had my permit for around half a year, but I've only driven one-fifth as far as necessary to take an official test. This isn't exactly a new issue to high school students, so just add me to the long list of teenagers who've thought about driving.

Taking the bus is also an underrated way of getting around. (Maybe I should have just made this a blog on transportation, come to think of it.) Since I can't drive (or don't always have access to a car), and the weather was too bad to bike for about five months of the year, taking the bus to and from school has been a natural choice. I know a lot of Uni kids live in Mahomet or Tolono or White Heath or Savoy, but most of us don't, so taking the bus to school makes sense, since the buses will be running anyway.

The Chicago Bulls were lucky enough to win the first pick in this year's NBA draft at 59-1 odds. That's great — it's always nice to have the first choice in anything, as seniors can say over Agora Days. Their best options would be to take Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley, or to trade the pick. Beasley looks like the best pick. Go Bulls.

I can't really think of anything else important to say that I haven't said already this year (for the time being). I'm looking forward to going to Japan this summer, I suppose. I procrastinate way too much. My cat is awesome. Baseball is awesome. Tennis is awesome. Uni, for the most part, has been awesome. Now all I need are my final words for this blog for the year …

Go Cubs. And have a great rest of the year, everybody!
