All throughout the NBA playoffs, I've been amazed by how exciting the games have been, even in these early rounds. I usually don't watch the playoffs until the finals, but this year has been too compelling.
What first drew me to this year's playoffs was the series between the Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks. The eighth-seeded Hawks brought the seemingly invincible Celtics to a game seven.
I, like many other fans, hopped on the bandwagon hoping that this lower-seeded team would win. Unfortunately, the Celtics were able to pull out the series and avoid one of the largest collapses in the history of sports.
Since the Celtics have continued to underperform in the postseason, I have enjoyed watching obviously inferior teams play them close. A prime example has been their series with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The exceedingly talented LeBron James has kept the Cavaliers alive; they are down 3-2 in the series. He has carried the team in the playoffs and the regular season, delivering MVP-caliber performances night after night. In the Cavaliers' win on Monday night, LeBron had one of the best plays of the season. I can't describe it in words.
I can only hope LeBron will grace us mortals with more plays like this.
