Potential employee uprising quelled with free pizza

Well, if The Onion says so, it must be true.

Hardly anything in life feels better than a good laugh. With APs, finals, sectionals, and graduation on top of the usual amount of homework and studying we all have to do, nothing worsens our dose of [grade level]-itis better than a good dose of humor.

Everyone laughs at different things, for different reasons. But sometimes, I can’t help but laugh, even for the most stupid reasons. Most (well, all) of the stuff on America’s Finest News Source is absurd, as the title of this blog suggests. There’s a glimmer of truth hiding in each article, as whatever is being parodied doesn’t seem as funny on its own. But I still laugh anyway.

Then there are my other sources of humor — comic strips like Zits, Get Fuzzy, or XKCD (especially the latter). There are TV shows — "South Park," "Family Guy," "Futurama." There’s MAD magazine, I guess, though I don’t feel like reading it anymore.

It’s all cheap entertainment, I guess, but it works. I don’t have to worry about making someone feel bad when it’s just a stick figure that's making sarcastic comments. In the end, XKCD aside, this stuff is stupid, but it’s also funny. Or maybe it’s funny because it’s stupid. But it doesn’t matter as long as your mind is off those math problems. Or that English paper. Or that biology AP.

I guess there are a million other things that could distract me anyway. There are plenty of other things that could make me laugh too. Ah, but who knows when you’re next going to hear a witty comment. That’s too spontaneous. This stuff is organized humor, funnier than what I’m writing, at least. It may be stupid. But it’s worth it. Definitely.

I'll take the free pizza, anyway.

Futurama

Sorry, I don't have a deep and insightful comment to make at the moment, but Futurama is always an excellent source of entertainment. Great article!
