Summer opportunities

I assume every single person at Uni is worn out and looking forward to summer. The ceaseless barrage of work will finally come to an end after a flurry of finals. My question is, after school is out, what will I do?

One of my first priorities is to get a job. According to my parents, if I am going on a school trip I need to earn half of the money needed go. The only way I can do this is if I get a job. So currently I'm looking for options.

Of my current options, the job I'd most like to have is at crop science. The only problem here is that I'd have to compete with the 20 or so Uni kids for the limited number of slots. Many classic summer jobs have lots of competition, and getting one is difficult if you have no prior experience like me.

What I'd most like to do this summer is sleep late and hang out with friends, but sadly I can't do this the entire summer. Besides hopefully having a job, my mom wants me to prepare for future standardized testing. Because of this, I can't have the academic-free summer that I was hoping to have.

Sadly, this will probably be one of the most free summers of the rest of my life. Looking way forward, after college, the likelihood is that I will have a year-round job, and therefore never as much free time.

Because of this unfortunate truth I have decided to enjoy my remaining carefree summer days as much as possible. I've also decided to stop looking to the future.

you don't really need to

you don't really need to study for standardized tests that early. I've taken both the SAT and the ACT and in my opinion, you don't really need to do much preparing besides a practice test or two. but you don't even need to do that until closer to when you're actually going to take the tests.
