MEMBERS OF THE current sophomore class will vote for their class officers on Tuesday, May 15, during David Bergandine's chemistry class. The positions open for election are president, vice president, secretary/treasurer, and Student-Faculty Advisory Committee representative. Candidates were required to submit biographies of themselves. The Gargoyle is publishing these bios with permission from Student Council without any editing alterations for grammar, spelling, style, etc. The biographies of the candidates are presented in alphabetical order.

CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT

ISAAC CHAMBERS

Congratulations class of 2009, we've almost made it through another year at Uni. We've got two more years left, and junior year is rumored to be the busiest and most difficult year of them all. I'd like the opportunity to help make our junior year as memorable and bearable as possible by serving you as your junior class president. The Junior class is responsible for planning prom, and I'm up to the task of making prom awesome. I'd appreciate your vote.

CANDIDATES FOR VICE PRESIDENT

ALAN LIANG

I'm rerunning for Vice President for the 07-08 Junior year. I will do my best to help Isaac and Natsuki make a positive contribution to the student body. Thank you for your time.

LAUREN PIESTER

My name is Lauren Piester and I am running for vice president for the class of 2009. I was president subbie year, and while I was not the best president then, I have learned a lot since then about what a good class officer should do and what our class enjoys doing. I want to help Isaac and Natsuki make our junior year as fun as it can be.

KAREEM SAYEGH

Hey there kids, it's Kareem. I want to be Vice President so I can put it on my resume. I can make sure that the President doesn't do anything stupid. I'm very willing to take everyone's ideas and implementing them. I have ideas man. Ideas. Like how about a space shuttle that runs on cheeze whiz. Or crackers made of crack. Like a pun. CRACKers. Ya. So vote for me. It'll be cool.

LOR SLIGAR

Hi, I'm Lor Sligar and I like to make the world a better place. Sometimes I work in animal orphanages and rescue the little puppies and kitties. I also enjoy feeding poor people in soup kitchens, volunteering at the local nursing homes, and knitting blankets and socks for terminally ill children. If you vote for me, I will do all these things for you. I will also make sure that we do lots of fundraisers so we can earn money to have class trips or events that don't cost much (this last thing is for serious).

Love, Lor.

CANDIDATE FOR SECRETARY/TREASURER

NATSUKI NAKAMURA

My name is Natsuki Nakamura and I am running for Sec./Tres. for class of 2009. I know that next year is an important year for the junior class (such as planning prom), and I'm also aware that next year will probably be incredibly busy. I am willing to give up the time needed to do what I can to have an awesome next year.

CANDIDATES FOR SFAC REPRESENTATIVE

KAROLINA KALBARCZYK

I am Karolina Kalbarczyk and I think I would be a good SFAC representative for the junior “Class of 2009”. I have served on SFAC these past three years, and I would like to once more. I have been our representative throughout the entirety of the development of the Honor Code and Honor Council, and I believe this experience will make me a good representative for our class in the Student Faculty Advisory Committee for the upcoming year. I hope you will vote for me as your SFAC representative.

NISH NOOKALA

Hey guys, my name is Nish Nookala (or any other of my nicknames) and I would like to run for junior class SFAC representative. Although I haven't ever served on student council or SFAC, I would like to commit myself to bringing students and faculty together and give you guys regular updates on whats happening (b/c in case you didn't know SFAC stands for STUDENT-FACULTY-ADVISORY-COMMITTEE). So thanks ahead for at least thinking about voting for me as your SFAC representative!
