I like this article. Very cool concept. Students should do what they want with their money but I admit I do not fathom the idea of spending hundreds of dollars on prom attire. Really: you think you're gonna go to the prom and meet someone? Sorry, it's just the same frumpy people you see every day in all your classes. "You looked so fly in the dim light of the dance but here in the harsh reality of Monday morning calculus I have come to regret the entire evening." Props to Ruthie for a $100 prom that even includes dinner at the excellent Radio Maria! (Don't forget tax.) There's no reason style must be expensive. Many of your teachers improvise their wardrobes on very limited outlays. I know that's hard to believe but it's true.
