Why can't anything go our way?

If there were a class for complaining, every single one of us, I’m sure, would ace it. After all, there’s sooo much to complain about:

We have too much homework. We’re overloaded with extracurricular activities. We should be sleeping way more than we are.

Our books are too expensive. Our backpacks are too heavy. Our days are too long. We want longer winter breaks.

Parking is millions of miles away. It’s getting cold and dark and we suffer from SAD. Soon the crazy Uni heating system will kick in, and we will complain about that too.

Our classmates have no manners. The kitchen and lounge are too disgusting for words.

And of course, Derald's is gone.

Oh, and let’s not forget the serious complaints:

Our parents are … maybe a little too concerned about our well-being, also known as pushy. We/they (I don’t know if it is we or our parents) worry about getting into a prestigious college, often just to have bragging rights. Too busy puffing up our résumés, we don’t spend enough, if any, time doing the things we actually enjoy.

Maybe these “hardships” are tolerable because we have futures worth looking forward to. Our hard work will pay off, and most of us will graduate from university.

School isn’t actually all that bad. Most of our teachers can tolerate our "teenage dispositions" and are pretty supportive, even in areas outside of their field (like hosting parties for sports teams).

This may sound very Little-Miss-Sunshine-y, but just think about it for a minute. And then carry on complaining, because it is so much fun.
