Weather update: Girls basketball playoff game postponed due to fog, will be played Wednesday

CHAMPAIGN — The first-round IHSA Class 2A playoff game between Uni High and Georgetown-Ridge Farm was postponed tonight due to heavy fog.
The contest was scheduled for a 6 p.m. tipoff at St. Thomas More, the regional host site. The game has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Champaign school.
This is the first year that Uni is competing in Class 2A — and it's the first year that the IHSA has divided schools into four classes for girls basketball. A single class was used through 1979. The division of schools into small (Class A) and large (Class AA) lasted from 1980 to 2007.
Uni is seeded ninth in the 11-team Sub-Sectional B of the Bloomington Central Catholic bracket. Georgetown-Ridge Farm is seeded seventh.
The two teams played earlier this season when the Lady Buffs defeated Uni 51-29 at the McDonald's Comet Classic on Nov. 20.
If the Illineks pull off the upset, they would play second-seeded Monticello on Thursday. That game would begin at 6 p.m., also at St. Thomas More.
