Uni remained winless after Tuesday's 7-5 loss to crosstown rival Judah Christian, but the outcome was still in the balance going into the final inning.

The two varsity squads entered the seventh tied 4-4. The visiting Tribe went ahead 7-4, leaving Uni with one final chance to take the game into extra innings. The Illineks added one run, but that wasn't enough as the team fell to 0-6 on the season.

Starting pitcher Mike Renner took the loss, but the sophomore had a strong day at the plate, notching three hits. Senior Brett Clark also pitched for Uni.

Uni's next opponent will be Decatur Christian, in a varsity road game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

See the Illineks' home page for a complete schedule of the 2006 season.
