St. Patrick's Day dance to be held Saturday with video game option
Published: Thursday, March 6, 2008 - 9:45pm
WANT SOME VARIETY with your dance? Come to Uni this Saturday, and you can spend an hour playing video games before heading out onto the dance floor.
It's part of the all-school St. Patrick's Day dance, sponsored by the freshman and sophomore classes. The event will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. in the North Attic. Admission is $2.
This is the first dance available to all students since winter formal on Jan. 19, also sponsored by the sophomore class.
So what's new this time? The dance will feature a video game portion from 8 to 9 p.m. This will be held in Room 106N, and students will have access to two televisions.
In an all-school e-mail today, sophomore class vice-president Linda Ly informed students that they may bring their own game systems, but one will be provided as well. The televisions will be used on a first-come-first-served basis.
"We know dances have been down recently," commented Ly about the video game portion, "and we hope that a little change can get more people to come."
