Welcome, Guest!
I want to see the world!
Published: Monday, March 10, 2008 - 8:45pm
This Friday I'll get to see and swim in the ocean for the first time in my life!
Other firsts of mine that I will experience this spring break will include my first time on an airplane, my first time leaving the country, and my first vacation ever.
And yes, I've had to wait 16 years for this.
You might say I'm the most sheltered, unexperienced, and untraveled person ever. I'd have to agree with you.
There are also a few reasons why I've never had such an experience before. For the majority of my summers, I've been completely consumed by club basketball, which also sucks a lot of money from my parents' account.
Wait ... OK, maybe this is the only reason. How lame!
After all these years, I'm going insane because I just want to go somewhere! Anywhere! Just some place remotely exciting so I can see what the rest of the world looks like. I have no idea what's out there, but I want to see it.
What's very sad is that my first vacation this spring break is not with my family. My friend took pity on me and the fact that I've never been anywhere, and she invited me to go along with her family.
But I don't care, I get to see the Bahamas.
I want to go SO many places.
First off, I want to go to Israel. I know someone who spent five weeks there and brought back amazing pictures that made me very jealous. Israel is tiny, but it looks so vast and beautiful.
I also want to go to Greece (ever since seeing the movie "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants").
I want to go to Costa Rica, because the pictures from the Uni trip there were amazing.
I want to go to the United Kingdom, because British people are kick butt. And I like tea.
I want to go to New Zealand and see a kiwi bird.
I want to go to Nepal, to see the Himalayas.
I want to go to Portugal. Spain. Italy. Venezuela. Belize!
Somewhere tropical. Somewhere deserted. Somewhere busy. Or quiet. Anywhere beautiful.
I'm sick of being stuck in the Midwest. The farthest I've been from here is Atlanta.
I guess I should start by exploring my own country first.
But nah, there are way too many more exciting places to go and people to see.
