Oh how I love spring break

I know that I and many other Uni students say that spring break is our favorite time of the year. For us, it is one week of complete freedom with no responsibilities in sight. Besides a few track practices, I won't even have to think about school.
This year, spring break will be especially great for me. Not only do I get time off, but I also get my birthday during the week. My birthday lies on Monday the 17th. For those of you who don't know, March 17 is also St. Patrick's Day. This means I will be wearing green that day and also possibly be eating green cake.
It has become somewhat of a tradition in my family for my mom to take my sister and me to the Wisconsin Dells to go to a waterpark during spring break, similar to what the seniors did on the senior trip. Although it isn't a faraway destination, I still enjoy it because of the sheer fun I have going to these parks.
For the rest of my break I will be hanging around town, which is what I find to be most relaxing. I can choose to socialize with friends if I want, or I can just sleep my break away and play video games when I get bored. Either way I will be sure to enjoy my break.
The only downside I can think of is the period of transition before we return to school. I know my friends and I frequently feel sluggish in our studies after spring and winter breaks. But, sluggishness aside, spring break is the perfect oasis in our desert of a school year.
